Rustic Farmhouse Spring Home Tour (2024)

Looking for ways to decorate for spring? If you love a rustic farmhouse style, have I got some garden-inspired decorating ideas for you!

As an avid gardener, I love to bring the outdoors in and decorate my home based on what’s going on outside.

Since we are in the home stretch of winter, I am totally ready for the warmth of the sun and spring flowers, so I started decorating my home with lots of spring florals.

I love adding natural and neutral elements that will transition from season to season depending on what’s happening outside.

Each year I focus on a new color palette.

Last year, I decorated with shades of purple.

But this year, I am focusing on lots of neutrals with some pretty pops of pink.

Wait until you see how I decorated my home for spring!

Welcome to My Cottage Gardens

Although my cottage garden hasn’t started blooming yet, I wanted to show you my decorating inspiration.

This garden starts blooming in early spring and puts on a stunning show through November.

Guests enjoy passing by all the flowers as they head to my front door.

One of my favorite blooms in the front yard is this gorgeous flowering crabapple tree.

It’s one of the many reasons we originally bought this house.

Over the years, I planted lots of spring-flowering bulbs such as tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths.

To see them pop up and bloom after a long, cold winter brings lots of joy.

Welcome to My Rustic Farmhouse Spring Home!

After walking through my front door, there is a small foyer with this beautiful antique bench that was passed down from my husband’s grandmother.

When we received it 22 years ago, the fabric was not my cup of tea so I had it recovered to match my cranberry, sage and gold decor.

Last year I lightened our entire main floor to a neutral color palette and the bench did not go at all anymore.

I didn’t want to pay to recover it again though, so I painted the fabric instead and love how it turned out! Can you believe that fabric is painted?

Rustic Farmhouse Spring Kitchen

When we renovated our kitchen, we wanted a place where our family and friends could comfortably gather and feel at home.

We used to have a wood farmhouse table and chairs here.

After renovating our home from a ranch to a center hall colonial, we relocated them to the dining room.

Instead of purchasing another table and chairs for the kitchen, we opted for this island with comfortable seating.

I wanted more work and entertaining space in the kitchen, so we added the island and made the countertop large enough to fit our family of five.

Since we are hosting Easter, cozying up the kitchen island to make it feel more welcoming is a high priority.

I added this beautiful centerpiece made with a vintage toolbox.

While I regularly use this centerpiece in the dining room, I love how it coordinates with the vintage seed prints so I’ve been moving it back and forth.

To create this centerpiece, I started with two faux green bunches so the floral stems had something to anchor in.

Then, I then added the smaller magnolia flowers with branches. For contrast, I added larger magnolia flowers. It was super easy to make and I love the result.

When we renovated this kitchen a few years ago, we did not have the budget to replace the cabinets.

Since they were in really good shape, I opted to paint them.

The paint has held up really well and I still love the result.

If you are ever considering painting your cabinets…do it! It’s not hard and I promise you will regret not doing it sooner. (To see the before pics, click here.)

I grow lots of flowers in my gardens and often cut them to enjoy indoors.

And I typically work with them here in my kitchen.

When my gardens are not blooming, I pick up fresh cut flowers like these beautiful pink peonies from the market.

I mean, how gorgeous are they?

They smell incredible and really brighten up my home!

Rustic Farmhouse Spring Living Room

As you enter my living room, you’ll immediately see our fireplace.

We use it almost every day during the colder months and it is a focal point in the room.

Since we use our fireplace daily, I prefer to use faux greens around the hearth so they do not dry out from the heat and always look gorgeous.

To decorate the hearth, I added a galvanized bucket, basket with some extra throw pillows, fake plants and flowers.

To add more texture and dimension, I tucked in more baskets, natural elements and other neutral textured containers.

I used to struggle with this small corner of our living room but finally embraced it by creating a small reading nook.

The top of this armoire has always been difficult to decorate so I play around with it a lot.

To decorate the armoire, I added some vintage crocks, a ZZ plant in a basket, a feathered owl, a mirror, and a frame.

I moved those those fresh peonies to enjoy in my living room!

Our living room is very neutral so having that fun pop of pink with the beautiful floral scent makes me feel happy every time I’m in here.

Rustic Farmhouse Spring Dining Room

One of my favorite rooms in our home is my dining room.

It’s one of the first rooms you see when you enter.

Lots of memories are made here when we host family and friends for dinner parties.

I love to dress up my dining room table with a gorgeous centerpiece.

Like I mentioned above, this magnolia centerpiece started here in the dining room.

AlthoughI like to keep them here, I really love them in the kitchen too!

I’m so conflicted now…where do you think I should keep them?

I literally smile every time I walk by this room because I just love how happy and cozy it feels.

And that’s how we should all decorate our homes – use the things you love that bring you joy.

Rustic Farmhouse Spring Bedroom

Do you decorate your bedroom for spring?

I don’t usually do too much, but recently updated our bedding with this beautiful floral quilt from Bed Bath and Beyond.

Although it is a floral pattern, the colors are muted and it is still pretty neutral.

To decorate the master bedroom for spring, I changed up the bedding and layered it with a solid gray quilt for extra warmth.

I also added some faux greens and tulips, twinkle lights, a cozy throw blanket, and a few throw pillows.

There’s something about the soft warm glow of twinkle lights isn’t there?

I put these up for the holidays and loved them so much, I never took them down!
